You can use either the BC-11e or BC-10 BJ Cartridge with the printer. The
BC-11e Color BJ Cartridge contains both color (cyan, magenta, yellow) and
black ink; the BC-10 Black BJ Cartridge contains ink only. Use the BJC-10
Black BJ Cartridge when you will be printing with black ink only.

The actual amount of ink that you use will vary depending on the print density
of a page. If the majority of your output is graphics, you may need to change ink
tanks more often than when you are printing text only. See Appendix A,
Specifications, for details on the life expectancy of BJ cartridges and BJ tanks.

You may need to replace the BJ cartridge or a BJ tank when any of the
following conditions exist:

You have been using the BJ cartridge or BJ tank for over six months.
Your printed output is not crisp and clear, and there are gaps in the
characters (missing dots) even after you have cleaned the print head once
or twice (using the quick cleaning procedure).

If you are using the BC-11e Color BJ Cartridge and one or more colors are not
printing, a BJ tank is probably out of ink. See the instructions starting on page
4-17 for replacing a BJ tank.

For the BC-11e Color BJ cartridge, you may replace the BJ tanks as many s 50 times (or more)
before you need to replace the BJ cartridge.
For the BC-10 Black BJ cartridge, you may replace the BJ tank as many as 18 times (or more)
before you need to replace the BJ cartridge.
