Noise can be heard along with the recorded sound

- When recording sound with an external microphone, the interference caused by wireless

communications may be picked up and recorded as noise. We recommend turning off the
wireless communication while recording (

0 141).

Sound is distorted or is recorded at lower levels.

- When recording near loud sounds (such as fireworks, shows or concerts), sound may become

distorted or it may not be recorded at the actual levels. Activate the microphone attenuator
(

0 148) or adjust the audio recording level manually (0 77).

The picture is displayed correctly but there is no sound from the built-in speaker.

- Speaker volume is turned off. Adjust the volume.
- If the STV-250N Stereo Video Cable is connected to the camcorder, disconnect it.
- The AV terminal is set to headphone output. Set

Memory Card and Accessories

Cannot insert the memory card.

- The memory card was not facing the correct direction. Turn the memory card over and insert

it.

Cannot record on the memory card.

- The memory card is full. Delete some recordings (

0 52, 98) to free some space or replace

the memory card.

- Initialize the memory card (

0 36) when you use it with the camcorder for the first time.

- The LOCK switch on the memory card is set to prevent accidental erasure. Change the posi-

tion of the LOCK switch.

- A compatible memory card must be used to be able to record movies on a memory card

(

0 32).

- The folder and file numbers have reached their maximum value. Set

bering] to [Reset] and insert a new memory card.

The wireless controller will not work.

- Set

[Wireless Remote Control] to [On].

- Replace the battery of the wireless controller.

Cannot upload files wirelessly using an Eye-Fi card.

[Eye-Fi Communication] is set to [Off] (

i appears onscreen). Set it to [Auto-

matic].

- Opening the LCD panel may help when the wireless connection is not strong enough.
- If certain conditions occur while uploading files, such as the camcorder becoming too hot or

the wireless connection getting too weak, the camcorder may stop the wireless upload (

appears onscreen). Turn off the camcorder and let it cool down or move to a location with a
stronger wireless signal.

- Contact the card manufacturer’s customer care.
