Buffer overflow. Recording was stopped.
- The data transfer rate was too high for the memory card in use and the recording was
stopped. Replace the memory card with one rated Speed Class 2, 4, 6 or 10.
- After repeatedly recording, deleting and editing scenes (fragmented memory), it will take
longer to write data on the memory and recording may stop. Save your recordings and initial-
ize the memory.
Built-in memory error
- The built-in memory could not be read. Contact a Canon Service Center.
Built-in memory is full
- The built-in memory is full (“ f End” appears on the screen). Delete some recordings
( 0 52, 98) to free some space. Save your recordings (0 123) and initialize the built-in
memory ( 0 36).
Cannot access the built-in memory
- There is a problem with the built-in memory. Contact a Canon Service Center.
Cannot communicate with the battery pack. Continue using this battery pack?
- You attached a battery pack that is not recommended by Canon for use with this camcorder.
- If you are using a battery pack recommended by Canon for use with this camcorder, there
may be a problem with the camcorder or battery pack. Consult a Canon Service Center.
Cannot convert
- Cannot access the memory card. Check the memory card and make sure it is inserted cor-
rectly.
- You inserted a MultiMedia Card (MMC) into the camcorder. Use a recommended memory card
( 0 32).
- There was an error creating the file name. Set 8 8 [Photo Numbering] to [Reset] and
initialize the memory card or delete all the photos ( 0 98) and all the scenes in the [For Web
Upload] and [For DVD Burning] index screens ( 0 52).
Cannot copy
- The total size of the scenes you selected to copy exceeds the available space on the memory
card. Delete some recordings on the memory card ( 0 52, 98) or reduce the number of
scenes to copy.
- The memory card already contains the maximum number of scenes (3,999 scenes). Delete
some scenes ( 0 52) to free some space.
Cannot divide the scene. Initialize only using the camcorder.
- The scene could not be divided because the camcorder’s internal scene management data log
is full. Save your recordings ( 0 121) and initialize the memory (0 36). Write back the
backup files and try dividing the scene again.
Cannot edit
- Could not move a scene in the playlist. Delete some scenes from the playlist ( 0 91).
