SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

2-1, WHAT TO DO

READ YOUR USER MANUAL AND ALL SUPPLEMENTS

REFUEL !N A SAFE PLACE. Open fuel cap slowly

to release pressure which may have formed in fuel

tartk. Always wipe unit of fuel or oil spills before start­

ing. To prevent a fire hazard, move at least 10 feet (3
meters) from fueling area before starling.

COMPLY WITH ALL FIRE PREVENTION REGULA­

TIONS. COMPLfANCE WITH ALL LOCAL, STATE,

OF1 FEDERAL LAWS IN THE UNITED STATES IS
THE USER’S RESPONSIBILITY.

SPECIAL NOTICE: This unit is equipped with a temp­
erature limiting muffler and spark arresting screen

which meets the requirements of CaliforniaCodes <5442
and 4443,All U.S.forest land and tite states of Califor­
nia, Idaho,Maine,Minnesota,New Jersey,Oregon, and

Washington require by law that many internal combu­

stion engines be equipped with a spark arresting scr­

een. If you operate in a locale where sue)) regulations
exist, you are iegaliy responsible for maintaining the

operating condition of these parts. Failure to do so is a
violation of the law. For normal homeowner use, the

muffler and spark arresting screen will not require any

seiviice.After GO ttours of use,we recommend ttiat ymir
muffler be serviced or replaced by an authorized serv­
ice dealer.

TURN UNIT OFF before setting it down, and also

before installing or removing attachments.

KEEP ALL SCREWS AND FASTENERS TIGHT and

the unit in good operating condition. Never operate
this equipment if it is improperly adjusted or not com-
plefety and securely assembled.

Paper dust masks are available at most paint and

hardware stores.

DO NOT USE ANY OTHER FUEL than that recomm-

ened in your manual. Always follow instructions

in ihe Fuel and Lubrication section of this manual.
Never use gasoline unless it is properly mixed

with 2-cycie engine lubricant. Permanent damage to
engine will result, voiding manufacturer's warranty.

DO NOT SMOKE while refueling or operating equip­

ment.

DO NOT OPERATE UNIT WITHOUT A MUFFLER

and properly installed muffler shield.

DO NOT TOUCH or let your tiands or body come in
contact with a hot muffler or spark plug wire.

ate blower in a confined or poorly ventilated area.

NEVER POINT BLOWER in the direction of people,

animals, buildings, automobiles, or windows, etc.

DO NOT operate unit vnthout inlet cover installed to
prevent contact with impeller.

DO NOT set a hot engine down where flammable

material is present.

DO NOT OPERATE UNIT FOR PROLONGED PERI­
ODS. Rest periodically.

10. DO NOT OPERATE UNIT WHILE UNDER THE

INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL OR DRUGS.

11. CAUTION: DO NOT ADD, REMOVE OR ALTER ANY

COMPONENTS OF THIS PRODUCT, Doing so could

cause personal injury and/or damage the unil voiding
the manufacturer’s warranty.

12. DO NOT operate your unit near or around flammable

liquids or gases vjhether in or out of doors. An explo­

sion and/or fire may result.

13. DO NOT WEAR loose Clothing, scarfs, neck chains,

unconfined long hair, and the like. Doing so could
result in injury associated with objects being drawn

into the rotating parts,

14. DO NOT refuel a running engine or an engine that is

hot.
