9. Is any confi guration required for SUN server?
When connecting the CS-116 IP serial console to SUN server, an alternate break sequence may not be
required, since some IP serial consoles are “Break Safe”. When using an Ethernet console connection,
the alternate break sequence need not be defi ned. However, the RSC Ethernet port must be confi gured
using the “rscconfi g” command.
10. How can I change the different serial ports in local console?
Press Ctrl + C, you will quit the serial port, it will be back to serial to serial (S to S) menu.
11. What is the default IP setting?
The default is
IP mode: Static
IP address: 192.168.0.1
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.0.254
12. How can I access the console port for IP confi guration ?
i. Connect the console port on the rear panel to a serial port on a PC host using the CAT5 cable and the
appropriate RJ45/DB9F adapter packaged with the CS-116 unit.
ii. Confi gure a terminal emulation program, such as HyperTerminal, using the settings:
Baud-rate = 115200
Data bits = 8
Stop bits = 1
Parity = none
Flow control = none
