Problems and Solutions
Problem Possible Cause - Solution
The computer feels too
hot. Make sure the computer is properly ventilated and the Vent/Fan intakes are not blocked. If this
doesn’t cool it down, put the system into Hibernate mode or turn it off for an hour. Make sure the
computer isn’t sitting on a thermal surface (see
“Overheating” on page 1 - 15 ). Make sure
you’re using the correct adapter.
Nothing appears on
screen. The system is in a power saving mode. Toggle the sleep/resume key combination set in Power
Options (see
“Configuring the Power Button” on page 3 - 7 / “Configuring the Power Button”
on page E - 20 ).
The screen saver is activated. Press any key or move the mouse.
You forget the boot
password. If you forget the password, you may have to discharge the battery of the CMOS. Contact your
service representative for help.

Password Warning
If you choose to set a boot password, NEVER forget your password. The consequences of this could be serious. If you cannot
remember your boot password you must contact your vendor and you may lose all of the information on your hard disk.
