heater cable must always be outside the terrarium. Plug cable into

electrical outlet.

* Always use a thermometer to monitor the inside temperatures

of your terrarium. Know the temperature range for the species of

animal you are keeping.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS – OUTSIDE TERRARIUM:

The Exo Terra® Heat Cable is great for the underside of a single

terrarium or in a reptile breeder rack set-up.

Turn empty terrarium upside down and (using small pieces of

electrical tape) tape the heat cable to the underside of the terrarium

using an up-and-down looping pattern. Do not overlap cable. Avoid

sharp bend radii of less than 2” (5 cm). Always leave a cold zone for

thermoregulation.

NOTE:

For less heat, position heat cable loops further apart. For

more heat, position loops closer together.

Do not overlap cable.

Keep cable loops a minimum of

1 ¼” (3 cm)

apart from each other.

Use only on glass terrariums.

Never let the edge of the terrarium(s) “rest” on the heater

cable. Always elevate the terrarium using rubber feet (available at

hardware stores). This allows excess heat to escape and prevents

damage to your heat cable, terrarium, animals, house furniture, etc.

Note: the first 6 feet (1.8 m) of cable with plug end is the “cold lead”.

No rubber feet required when used with an Exo Terra Glass

Terrarium.

Maintenance and Cleaning Instructions:

The Exo Terra® Heat Cable is maintenance free, requiring no

adjustments. From time to time cleaning the heat cable will be

necessary. Use only a soft cloth dampened only with water. Do not

use harsh chemical, solvents or the like. Always unplug unit from

wall receptacle before cleaning or relocating the heat cable.
