Standard Deviation

standard deviation (σ) = √(∑((x - μ)²) / n)

x = a Participant’s score

l

μ = mean total score

l

n = total number of Participants

The discrimination index can then be computed with the following formula:

discrimination index = ((Mp-Mq) / σ) * √((Np*Nq)/((Np+Nq) * (Np+Nq-1))

Mp = mean total score of the group of Participants that answered the question correctly

l

Mq = mean total score of the group of Participants that answered the question incorrectly

l

Np = total number of Participants that answered the question correctly

l

Nq = total number of Participants that answered the question incorrectly

l

σ = standard deviation of scores for the entire set

l

Response Times - Displays the length of time (in seconds) that it took with the final recorded response(s). Response
times will not display on merged sessions.
