Functions of Buttons

Recipe Master’s buttons are easy

to use.

ON

/

ENTER

: Press this key to turn

on Recipe Master or to confirm a

selection after you have scrolled

to it.

SAVE

: Press this key to save a

recipe to “favorites.” (You can

store up to 25 recipe names in

memory.) Also press this key to

save the ingredients of a recipe to

your shopping list.

ABC

: Press this key to scroll

through a list quickly using the

UP

or

DOWN

buttons, jumping from

one alphabetical first letter to the
next. (An “

ABC

icon will appear

on the upper right of the screen.)
Press

ABC

a second time to turn

this feature off.

UP

: Press this key to scroll up.

Installing or Changing Batteries

The New York Times Recipe

Master requires 2 AAA batteries.

Be sure to review “Battery

Information” on page 22.

Carefully turn the unit over so

that the top side is face-down on a

soft surface, such as a towel or

magazine. You’ll find the battery

compartment on the unit’s back.

Use a small Phillips screwdriver

to remove the screw. Lift off the

battery compartment lid. Install 2

AAA batteries, making sure to

match the polarity (+ and -) with

the diagram inside the battery

compartment. (See diagram

below.) Place the battery com-

partment lid’s tabs in their slots

and snap the compartment door

back on. Replace the screw and

gently tighten it.
