In this step, the top connector is recessed into the top foil to serve as a bushing and the trim cap

is attached.

Lay the headstay out straight on a clean work area such

as a dock.
Slide the trim cap and one connector to the top of the

headstay.
Note: If the top foil is less than 19" (483 mm), slide

only the trim cap to the top of the headstay.

Slide the rest of the connectors to the bottom of the

stay.

Secure the connectors at the bottom of the headstay

with tape as shown.

Tip: Leave at least 1" (25 mm) between each connector. Wrap

enough tape on the rod so that the connectors cannot pass over it.

Wire Instructions

Because the lower end of the wire is open, you will not place the connectors on the headstay until needed so you

should ignore references to taping the connectors at the bottom of the headstay.

Tip: You may find that the rod is difficult to lay flat and two people

may be required to hold the rod straight while foils are slipped up

the headstay.

Tip: Instead of using tape, use a 7
