• AAC is an abbreviation for “Advanced Audio

Coding”. It is the basic format related to the audio

compression technology used in MPEG-2 and

MPEG-4.

• Playing of AAC files that have the extension

“.m4a” encoded using iTunes

®

is supported

with this device. However, files may be unable

to be played due to having DRM copy protection

(copyright protection) or because of the version of

iTunes they have been encoded with.

• iTunes is a trademark of Apple Inc. that is

registered in the US and other countries.

• This applies to files created with iTunes.

• If a 5th generation or later iPod, iPod nano, iPod

classic or iPod touch is connected, it can be

played with even higher sound quality because

the audio from the iPod is transmitted digitally

(LPCM).

• Some operations may differ depending on the

iPod model.

• If the iPod’s software is old, it may not operate

properly. Please be sure to use up-to-date iPod

software.

• The TEXT display is alphanumeric only. If non-

alphanumeric characters have been recorded in

the iPod, the characters will be displayed as “*”.

• The iPod is a device licensed for the private

duplication and playback of uncopyrighted material

or material for which duplication and playback are

legally permitted. Violation of copyright is legally

prohibited.

• The iPod equalizer cannot be operated from the

SA8003. Before connecting an iPod to this unit, it

is recommended that the iPod equalizer be set to

“OFF”.

• Please note that we offer no compensation if

problems occur in the iPod data when using this

unit with an iPod.
