Error Code Guide:
When an error code is displayed:
l Close the hot water faucet, turn off the switch on the remote
control.
l Wait for about 5 minutes before turning the switch on
again.
l Open the hot water faucet.
If the error code remains in the display:
l Close the hot water faucet and turn off the switch on the
remote control.
l Take the proper action shown below and attempt operation
of the appliance again.
If the error code is still shown:
l Turn off the hot water faucet and turn off the switch on the
remote control.
l Take note of the error code displayed and contact your
Paloma dealer or distributor for service.
Notice: If an error code other than those listed below is
displayed, immediately turn off the hot water faucet, take note
of the error code, turn off the switch on the remote control and
contact your Paloma dealer or distributor for service.
CAUTION: For your safety, DO NOT attempt repair of gas piping, remote control, burners, vent connectors or other
safety devices. Refer repairs to qualified service personnel.
CAUTION: Make certain power to water heater is “OFF” before removing protective cover FOR ANY REASON.
CAUTION: Label all wires prior to disconnection when servicing controls. Wiring errors can cause improper and
dangerous operation. VERIFY PROPER OPERATION AFTER SERVICING.

Error Code Possible Cause What To Do
11 or 12 The Gas shutoff valve is not opened fully.
Gas service has been interrupted.
LP Gas is running low. (LP models only).
Air in Gas Line.
Power supply not grounded.
Low inlet gas pressure due to improper sizing
Wrong gas type.
Improper venting, vent material, or vent
configuration.
l Open the Gas shutoff valve fully.
l Contact gas utility company.
l Fill up LP Gas container or replace with
a new cylinder of LP Gas.
l Bleed all air from gas lines.
l Ensure appliance is properly grounded.
l Ensure gas line, meter, and regulator are
sized properly.
l Ensure gas type is correct.
l Ensure venting is per Instruction
Manual. Contact a dealer for service.
15 The hot water faucet is not opened enough.
Water heater has build up of lime deposits.
l Open the faucet more to secure enough
volume.
l Contact a dealer for service.
05 or 13
(On error code 05 only: Every
60 seconds you hear an alarm
or when the faucet is closed,
the alarm stops.)
(On error code 13 only: Unit
shuts down.)
Indoor Water Heater Only
Air intake of the unit and/or vent termination
may be blocked.
Ventilator or other vents of the room may be
blocked.
The air inside the room may be contaminated
due to long use of a fireplace or spaceheater.
Heavy ventilation by other equipment or
appliances causing the lack of air intake to the
water heater.
Air shortage may be caused by too much steam
in the unit.
Air intake filter is clogged.
If the error code is still displayed after taking
the above steps.
l Remove any obstructions of the air
intake or vent termination.
l Clean the air intake of any dust or
grease buildup.
l Open a window or vent to keep the
air inside the room fresh.
l Lower the level of the ventilation of
other equipment or appliances.
l Avoid direct contact from steam.
l Clean the air intake filter.
l Please contact a dealer for service.
1L Water heater has buildup of lime deposits. l Contact a dealer for service.
