CHAPTER 8 CLICK 511

Client mode is used for the Click 511 connected to the device you are monitoring. For ex-

ample, if you are monitoring a beacon alarm, the Click 511 in the pole-mount cabinet near

the beacon will be running in Client mode.

This mode has one submenu with which you specify the device ID of the field station client.

Device IDs 1 through 8 are allowed. Each field station client communicating with a specific

base station must have a unique device ID.

Note

Multiple clients in a Click field station cabinet can be used if more than two digital
inputs need to be monitored at a particular location. Make sure that each client has
a unique device ID.

Table 8.2 – Client Mode Submenu 1 (Yellow LEDs)

The first four device IDs correspond to the number of the active LED. The last four IDs use

LEDs 1–4 but flash to indicate the selection of IDs 5–8 (see $).

While the Click 511 is in Client mode, the yellow LEDs indicate the device ID (according to

$) and the red LEDs indicate the status of the digital inputs. If digital input 1 is ON, the first

red LED will be solid. If digital input 1 is OFF, the first red LED will be flashing. Likewise,

if digital input 2 is ON, the second red LED will be solid. And if digital input 2 is OFF, the

second red LED will be flashing.

For testing and demo purposes, the status of the digital outputs of a Click 511 in Client

mode will be ON. Then, by wiring the digital outputs to the digital inputs of the client de-

vice, you will be able to demonstrate operation with a digital input ON. To wire the devices

together you will need to crossover the wires of I/O pair 2 (see Figure 8.6). If you do not

wire the digital outputs to the digital inputs, then the first two red LEDs will flash. This will

allow you to demonstrate operation with digital inputs OFF.
