OPERATION

Starting Your Engine

Starting a Cold Engine (Electric Start)

Do not depress the throttle

until the engine starts.
1. Flip choke toggle to

“FULL ON.”

2. Pull kill switch (shut-off

switch) up to “RUN.”

3. Turn key to “START”

and crank engine.

4. After the engine starts,

release the key to “ON”

and flip the choke toggle

to “OFF.” If the engine

slows or wants to stop,

use intermittent choking

to “HALF ON.”

5. WideTrak models can also be warmed up with the transmission in

neutral and the brake engaged. This will allow the engine to warm

without engaging the drive system.

NOTE: Don’t leave the machine in this position for more than five

minutes. Engine RPM should be at idle before shifting the transmis-

sion.

Starting a Warm Engine

1. Turn key to “ON.”

2. Pull kill switch (shut-off switch) up to “RUN.”
3. Grasp starter handle and pull slowly until recoil engages; then pull

to start.

If the engine does not start on the first pull, slightly depress the throttle

with your left hand (no more than 1/4″ open), and pull the rope with

your right hand. When the engine starts, immediately release the

throttle.
