Data Area Clearance Settings

You can set the number of times data clear is repeated, the repeat
pattern, and the verification method for "Clear All Memory", "Clear
Document Filing Data", "Clear All Data in Jobs Completed List", and
"Clear Address Book and Registered Data".

When [DoD 5220.22-M] is set, the number of repetitions is fixed at 3.
Data is cleared by the data clear pattern that complies with the DoD
5220.22-M specifications.
The first clearance overwrites the data area with the Specified Value. You
can specify a hexadecimal number from 0 to FF for it.
The verification method is [All].

When [Manual] is selected, the number of repetitions and data clear
pattern can be set.
The number of repetitions can be set to a number from 1 to 10 by
checking as many checkboxes.
[Overwrite with "0"], [Overwrite with "FF"], [Overwrite with Random
Number], or [Overwrite with Specified Value] can be selected for the data
clear pattern.
[None], [All], or [%] can be selected for the verification method.
[%] is used to verify if data is properly overwritten within the range 5% to
95%. You can set the range in increments of 5%.
Select either [DoD 5220.22-M] or [Manual] for the clearing method. Then,
one or more settings for the clearing method you selected as above. And
then, tap the [Submit] key.
The factory settings are: Deletion method: [Manual], Number of deletions:
Once (only a single check box is selected), Deletion pattern: [Overwrite
with Random Number], and Verification method: [None].
