SET AUDIO MODE

PROLOGIC

STEREO

5.1 CH
LT / RT

The Audio Output Mode setting adjusts itself automatically to
match the type of audio on the disc you are playing.

If you play a DVD movie disc which has either a Dolby Digital

audio soundtrack, the "5.1" mode is selected automatically and
sound is heard from all 5 satellites and the subwoofer. If you
play a DVD which has a Dolby Surround / Pro Logic sound
track the "Pro Logic" mode is selected automatically and sound
is heard from all 5 satellites and the subwoofer.

Note:
If you are playing a DVD movie disc with Dolby Digital soundtrack
and you do not hear sound from all 5 satellites remember to
check the default settings in the menu of the disc you are playing.
If the default setting of that specific disc is 'Stereo' you will not
get any output from the center or rear satellite speakers. Refer
back to page 22 for info on how to change the individual disc
default settings.

If you play a DVD with a stereo soundtrack, or an audio CD,

the Pro Logic 'Stereo' mode is selected. Sound will only be
heard from the left and right front speakers and the
subwoofer. However you may then press the 'Listening'
mode button on the remote control to select other Pro Logic
modes and activate the center and/or rear satellite speakers.
Refer to "Selecting Listening Modes" on page 44 for
additional information.

The VSS (Virtual Surround Sound) setting can provide a

surround sound feeling from normal audio CD's or stereo
broadcasts by causing a slight delay in the sound between
the left front and right front speakers.

The LT/RT Audio Out mode should only be used if you are

feeding the audio signal from the left and right audio output
jacks on the back panel of this unit to an external Dolby Pro
Logic decoder. If you select the LT/RT Audio Out mode you
may not have any output from the speakers connected to
this system.

Note:
When the "5.1" mode is selected, there will be no audio output
at left and right audio output jacks on the back panel of this
unit.
