To request for date and time:
1. Press and hold the Talk key until the microphone icon ( ) appears on the title bar.
2. In a clear voice, say “What date is it?” The ASR software then tells you the current date.
3. Press and hold the Talk key again, and then say “What time is it?”
4. The ASR software then tells you the current time.
Voice Recorder
Voice Recorder lets you record your voice and quickly send it as an email attachment, send it in a picture
message, or set the recorded voice as your ring tone.
To record your voice:
1. Tap Start > All Programs > Voice Recorder .
2. Hold the device’s microphone close to your mouth.
3. Touch Record or to start recording. Tap Stop or to end the recording.
To select or create a folder in which to save voice recordings:
By default, all recordings are saved in the My Voices folder of the device. You can choose another folder or
create a new folder to save your voice recordings.
1. Tap the arrow beside the folder name on the upper left side of the screen.
2. In the menu that opens, choose an existing folder or touch Add/Delete to create a new folder.
To play back a voice recording:
ᮣ On the Voice Recorder screen, touch a voice recording to play it.
To set a voice recording as your ring tone:
ᮣ Tap and hold a voice recording, and then tap Set as Ringtone .
To send a voice recording in an email or picture message:
1. Tap and hold a voice recording, and then tap Send .
2. Do one of the following:
Ⅲ To send the voice recording in an email message, select an email account, compose your email
message, and then tap
Send . See “Email Messaging” on page 158 to learn how to send email.
Ⅲ To send the voice recording in a picture message, tap Picture Message , compose your message, and
then tap Send .
Note Voice Recorder saves voice recordings in AMR-NB (Adaptive Multi-Rate Narrowband) format only. This is a
common speech audio format used in mobile devices.
Tip If a microSD card is installed before you open Voice Recorder, the recordings are saved in the My Voices folder
on the microSD card by default.
Tip If you need to adjust the sound volume, press the Volume Up or Volume Down button.
