• Press again to display the tape

counter with memory stop. An
M” appears in front of the tape
counter.

• Press again to display the elapsed-

time counter.

Note: Press COUNTER RESET to
reset the tape or elapsed-time counter
to “0000” (or “0:00:00”) when they
appear.

• Press again to display the time-

remaining display.

• Press again to remove the displays

from the viewfinder.

• These displays are not recorded on

the tape when they appear.

Status Indicator

The following displays appear to tell
you what the camcorder is doing.
REC appears when the camcorder

is recording.

FF appears during fast-forward.

REW appears during rewind.

PAUSE appears when the

camcorder is in record pause
(thumb trigger or PAUSE/STILL
button pressed to stop recording).

ST-BY (stand-by) appears briefly

when the camcorder is preparing to
record.

TAPE flashes when the safety tab

has been removed from the cassette
and the CAMERA/VCR switch is in
CAMERA.

DEW appears when the camcorder

has too much moisture inside to
operate. Remove the cassette and
allow the camcorder to dry out for
approximately two hours. Details
are on page 6.

INDEX and END Indicators
INDEX flashes briefly when the

camcorder automatically indexes
the tape. Details are on page 25.

END flashes when you reach the

end of the cassette during recording
or playback.
