Fading In and Out of Scenes

When you fade in and out of scenes, the picture gradually appears or disappears.
Speed of the fade is automatically controlled by the camcorder.

Power Zooming

The 12:1 motorized zoom lens allows you to zoom in and out for close-up or wide-
angle shots.
The power zoom buttons are easily controlled by your index and middle fingers when
you hold the camcorder properly through the handstrap.

• Press “T” to move the lens in the “telephoto” (close-up) direction.

• Press “W” to move the lens in the “wide-angle” direction.

FADE Button

Fading In

When you fade into a scene, the
recording will start with a blank screen
and the picture will gradually appear.

1. While recording, press the thumb

trigger (or PAUSE/STILL) to place the
camcorder in record pause.

2. Press and hold FADE until the picture

in the viewfinder disappears. Then
press the thumb trigger (or PAUSE/
STILL)
to start recording.

3. Release FADE after a few seconds.

The picture will gradually appear.

Fading Out

When you fade out of a scene, the picture
will gradually disappear.

1. While recording, press and hold

FADE. The picture will gradually
disappear from the screen.

2. Continue to hold FADE and press the

thumb trigger (or PAUSE/STILL)
button to put the camcorder in record
pause.

3. When the camcorder has entered

record pause, release FADE. The
camcorder will return to normal
operation.
