Aspirator Suction Unit

6. Position the suction tubing appropriately with the patient and start therapy. 

NOTE: When the fluid reaches the safe full level of the collection bottle (800 cc), the 
suctioning will stop automatically (float shut‐off). Refer to FIGURE 2.

CAUTION

Turn the power switch Off (O) when the automatic float shut-off is activated.

Further suctioning could cause damage to the vacuum pump.
The collection jar should be emptied after every use. NEVER let the fluid

level exceed the “Safe Full” line. Overflow can damage the aspirator.

7. Turn the power switch Off (O) when the automatic float shut‐off is activated. 

8. Remove and clean the collection bottle when the motor has completely stopped 

and the vacuum has dropped. Refer to Cleaning the Collection Bottle and Lid.

9. Unplug the suction unit when not in use.

Cleaning the Collection Bottle and Lid

NOTE: For this procedure, refer to FIGURE 1 on page 4 and FIGURE 2.

NOTE: Clean the collection bottle and lid after each use.

1. Ensure the power switch is Off (O), the motor has completely stopped, and the 

vacuum has dropped.

2. Disconnect the suction unit from the AC power source.

3. Remove the elbow connector and tubing from the collection bottle lid.

4. Remove the collection bottle lid from the collection bottle.

5. Empty the contents.

6. Clean the collection bottle and lid after each use by one of the following 

methods: 

• Wash the collection jar and lid in the upper rack of a dishwasher with a 

water temperature maximum of 150

o

F (65

o

C).
