Please note: When you are finished using the cappuccino feature
for the day please proceed as follows:
a. Remove the Thermal Milk container and place in the refrigerator.
b. Remove the flexible hose on both ends and clean with hot water.
c. Pull off the Dial component and the Dual Nozzle and rinse
under warm water.
18. CAPPUCCINO CLEANING CYCLE
Milk contains fatty acids. Hot water alone may not always
remove milk fats completely. If you use the cappuccino feature
frequently or if you use the Z5 for commercial purposes we highly
recommend to perform this cleaning cycle daily. It will take less
than two minutes.
Please note: the Z5 will not prompt you to run this special cycle.
You need to activate the cycle through the maintenance menu.
One bottle of the solution is enclosed with your Z5. It will last
for approximately 20 cleaning cycles. For additional supplies see
chapter 34.
COFFEE READY
• Fill a container with approx. 6 oz. of water and add one cap of
the Cappuccino Cleaner (15ML or 1/2 oz.).
• Connect the long hose to the Dial component and insert the
other end into the container with the cleaning liquid (Fig. 15).
Make sure that the Dial points to the Latte or Frothing position
(not the steaming position!) (Fig. 5f).
• Place a container which can hold at least 12 oz. under the
Dual Nozzle System.
• Push and hold the Rotary Dial until you hear a beep.
The display shows FILTER .
• Turn the Rotary Dial until the display shows MAINTENANCE .
• Push the Rotary Dial to confirm that you want to go into the
MAINTENANCE section.
• Turn the Rotary Dial. It will offer you a choice of the following
maintenance programs:
RINSE UNIT
CAPPUCCINO CLEANING
CLEAN UNIT
CAPPUCCINO RINSING
DECALCIFY UNIT
EXIT
• Select CAPPUCCINO CLEANING and push the Rotary Dial.
The Rinse Button will illuminate.
CLEANER FOR CAPPUCCINO PRESS BUTTON.
• Since we have added the cleaner already, Press the Rinse
Button. The Z5 will siphon the cleaning solution through the
Milk Nozzle. It will run two short cycles and it will stop.
WATER FOR CAPPUCCINO PRESS BUTTON .
• Remove the container with the cleaning solution and fill with
fresh clean water (about 6 oz.)
• Replace and insert the hose.
The rinse button illuminates. Press the Rinse Button.
The Z5 will run one short fresh water cycle through the Milk
Nozzle and the display will return to
COFFEE READY .
19. CLEANING THE DIAL COMPONENT
We recommend to regularly disassemble the Dial Component
and rinse under warm water (Fig. 5a).
Make sure the venting tip (Fig. 5a) is always clean and free of
milk deposits.
NOTE: Should you lose the venting tip, you will find a spare one
included in the Welcome Pack.
