Using the Remote Control
Using this remote control, you can operate audio/video components of not only JVC’s but also the other
manufacturers’. To operate the other manufacturers’ components, see page 47.
Using the Remote Control for Operating JVC Audio/Video Components
IMPORTANT:
To operate JVC audio components using this remote control:
• You need to connect JVC audio components through the COMPU LINK-3 (SYNCHRO) jacks (see page
41) in addition to the connections using cables with RCA pin plugs (see page 9).
• Aim the remote control directly at the remote sensor on the receiver.
• Select a source with the buttons on the SOURCE SELECT section (outside panel) of the remote control,
or press the buttons on the remote mode section (inside panel) of the remote control. If you select a source
on the front panel or using the menu function, the remote control will not operate that source.
Tuner
After pressing FM or AM (on the SOURCE SELECT section of the outside panel) or TUNER (on the remote
mode section of the inside panel), you can perform the following operations on the built-in tuner:
1 – 10, +10 Selects the preset channels directly.
For preset channel number 5, press 5.
For preset channel number 15, press +10, then 5.
For preset channel number 20, press +10, then 10.
For preset channel number 30, press +10, +10, then 10.
FM MODE/MUTE Changes the FM reception mode.
PRESET CHANNEL +/– Changes the preset channels.
RDS operating buttons
PTY SEARCH Starts and ends searching a broadcast using the RDS.
PTY SELECT +/– Selects a program type.
DISPLAY MODE Changes the RDS display mode.
Note:
To activate the remote control for tuner operations, you can use the FM button or the AM button on the
SOURCE SELECT section or the TUNER button on the remote mode section. If you press the button on
the remote mode section, you can operate the tuner using the remote control, but the playing source will
not be changed to “FM” or “AM.”
Sound control section (Amplifier)
You can always perform the following operations:
SURROUND MODE Changes the surround modes.
SEA MODE Changes the SEA modes.
After pressing SOUND CONTROL on the remote mode section of the inside panel, you can perform the
following operations:
CENTER +/– Changes the center speaker output level for the surround modes.
REAR +/– Changes the left/right rear speaker output level for surround modes.
DELAY Changes the delay time for surround modes.
TEST Checks the speaker output level for surround modes.
Note:
After adjusting sounds, press the corresponding button on the remote mode section to operate your target
source by using 10 keys; otherwise, 10 keys cannot be used for operating your target source.
