Using Smartlink
With Smartlink your TV can communicate with a connected VCR. To enjoy Smartlink,
connect your VCR (which supports Smartlink, NexTView Link, Easy Link or Megalogic) to
the AV2 socket F using a fully- wired 21-pin SCART cable.
When viewing analogue channels on the TV, you can download data such as the
programme table from your TV to the VCR by following the instructions below:
1. Press the MENU button on the remote control to display the menu on the TV screen.
2. Move the OK button on the control DOWN to select the symbol on the screen then
move RIGHT to enter the ‘PRESET’ menu.
3. Move the OK button DOWN to select ‘Installation’ on the screen then move RIGHT to
enter the ‘INSTALLATION’ menu.
4. Move the OK button DOWN to select ‘Smartlink Setup’ then move RIGHT to enter the
SMARTLINK SETUP menu.
5. With the SMARTLINK SETUP menu on the TV screen, press the OK button to download
the preset data from your TV to the VCR.
6. Once download is complete, press the MENU button to remove the menu from the TV
screen.

Before using the ‘Smartlink’ facility, you will need to set up your VCR to receive the TV inputs from the
scart plug (Please refer to your VCR instruction manual).
Note: If you want to change channel once a digital programme has started recording,
select the channel by using the remote control buttons as normal. The message
‘STOP RECORDING’ will be displayed on screen. Either do nothing to allow the
recording to continue or select the required channel once more while the message
is still displayed on screen. The recording will then be cancelled.
