Changing Devices in the Drive Bay Using the Drive Bay Tab
To exchange devices while the power is on, you should be aware of the
following:
❑ Do not attempt to change devices in the drive bay while the power is
on unless you use the sequence of steps on the Drive Bay tab.
❑ Do not switch to System Hibernation mode or System Suspend mode
while changing a device.
❑ Do not change a device in the drive bay while your computer is
accessing a CD-ROM, DVD-ROM, or floppy disk. Doing so may
cause loss of data. Be sure to close active applications, other than
Sony Notebook Setup, before changing a device.
❑ When installing a hard disk drive to the drive bay for the first time, it
may take several minutes before you are able to use your computer.
❑ For optimum performance, you should turn off your computer when
you insert a hard disk drive. If you insert a hard drive without
turning off the power, you must reboot in order for the drive to run at
optimum speed.
❑ When changing a device in the drive bay of the docking station, you
must turn off the computer.
