TROUBLESHOOTING
If the machine should stop working, before calling for technical assistance, check
whether the machine has stopped for one of the following reasons. The services of
a specialist called-out for no justifiable reason must be paid for, even if the washing
machine is still under guarantee.
The washing machine does not work
(the on/off indicator does not light-up)
• check that:
1) the mains power supply is working
2) the plug is correctly inserted
3) the programmer dial is in the “on”
position, or that the “off” button
hasn’t been pressed
4) the upper cover of the washing
machine is closed properly
The washing machine does not work
(the on/off indicator is lit)
• check that:
1) the programmer dial is in the cor-
rect position for the selected pro-
gramme;
2) if need be, check the instructions
listed under “The washing machine
does not fill with water”
The washing machine does not fill with
water
• check that:
1) there is water in the pipes
2) the water feed valve is open
3) the drain pipe is not kinked
4) the filter is not blocked. If it is
blocked, follow the cleaning pro-
cedure by first unplugging the ma-
chine from the mains
5) there are no lumps of hardened
soap powder in the dispenser
The washing machine fills and drains
water continuously
• check that:
1) the drain hose is at the correct
height (60-90 cm)
2) the end of the drain hose in not
under water
The washing machine does not drain
and spin
• check that:
1) the drain hose is connected prop-
erly
2) the drain hose is not kinked
3) the filter is not blocked
4) the no-spin button has not been
pressed
5) the no-drain button has not been
pressed
The washing machine vibrates exces-
sively and is noisy
• check that:
1) all the transport protection devices
have been removed .
2) the washing machine is perfectly
level
3) bulky items such as sheets, table-
cloths, etc. have not become tangled
The door will not open
1) wait about one minute after the
wash cycle has finished
The washing is still wet after spinning
• check that:
1) the washing has been put in the
drum evenly distributed
2) the correct spin speed has been
selected
The washing machine stops inadvert-
ently during a wash cycle
• check that:
1) the power has not been cut
Excessive detergent is left in the dis-
penser
• check that:
1) the water feed valve is fully open
2) the filter between the valve and feed
pipe is not blocked
After a wash cycle, the washing is still
dirty
• check that:
1) the drum has not been overloaded
2) the right amount of detergent has
been used
3) the correct wash programme was
selected
The washing has shrunk or is discol-
oured
• check that:
1) the correct wash programme was
selected
2) the correct wash temperature was
selected
