devices after a specified period of time, or after a specified number of

packets has been transmitted.

WPA-PSK is far superior to WEP and provides stronger protection for

the home/SOHO user for two reasons. The process used to generate the

encryption key is very rigorous and the re-keying (or key changing) is

done very quickly. This stops even the most determined hacker from

gathering enough data to break the encryption.

WPA-Shared Key

This is the shared key used by the clients to become authenticated with

the Root Bridge/Remote Router/Remote NAT.

In order to configure the Root Bridge mode in WPA-PSK, follow the steps below:

1. In this mode, a client needs to be capable of WPA-PSK. The airHaul Nexus in Router mode

can support this. There is no Remote Bridge in this case as it does not work with WPA-PSK.

2. Enter the Remote Router Radio’s MAC address in the ACL entry box and select router from

the drop down menu.

3. Enter the Pre-Shared Key value (ASCII) of between 8 to 64 characters. The clients must

specify the same key to get associated.

4. Select the Re-key time in seconds.

5. Select the Encryption type, either AES or TKIP.

6. Click on ‘Apply Changes’ to save the configuration.
