Chapter 2
Quick Checklist
This chapter gives you a basic step-by-step guide to quickly set up the important param-
eters of Kerio Network Monitor program so that it can be used immediately. If you are
unsure about any of its steps, look up the chapter dealing with the appropriate prob-
lems.
1.
Choose suitable computer in your network and install both components of Kerio
Network Monitor
on it (see chapters
and
).
2.
Log in to the viewer (see chapter
) and choose the adapters, on which the packets
are to be monitored (see chapter

In the menu Action / Change password set the password for user Admin.

If no private IP addresses are used in the local network set appropriate ranges of IP
addresses in the menu Settings / Configuration, the IP addresses tab (see chapter
).

If the local network is connected to the Internet via a proxy server, check and, if nec-
essary, adjust the settings for the proxy server in the menu Settings / Configuration,
the IP addresses tab (see chapter
).

If an mail server is running in the local network or on the internet gateway, decide
how the amount of transferred mail should be measured and perform the appro-
priate settings the in menu Settings / Configuration, the IP addresses tab (see chap-
ters

).
