Adjust Keyboard Settings

To adjust the keyboard settings, touch Home >
Menu > Settings > Locale & text
.

Locale and text

Select locale: Select to change the language.

Text Settings

Vibrate on keypress: Check to activate

vibration when a key is touched.

Sound on keypress: Check to activate

clicking sound when a key is touched.
Note: To use this feature, ensure that the
Audible selection box is checked. See
“Enable Screen Selection Sound” on
page 91.

Auto-capitalization: Check to

automatically set the first letter of a
sentence in upper case.

Word Suggestion Settings
Quick fixes: Check to add a period when

the user presses the space key twice to
indicate sentence completion.

Show suggestions: Check to display

suggested words as you type. Available
only when Quick fixes is checked.

Auto-complete: Check to enter a

highlighted word automatically if a space
or punctuation is typed. Available only

when Quick fixes and Show suggestions
are checked.

User Dictionary

Select to add user preset words to the
dictionary.

Add Words in the Dictionary
1. From the Locale & text screen, touch User

dictionary > Menu > Add.

2. Type the word you want to add, then touch

OK.

Customize Words in the Dictionary
1. From the Locale & text screen, touch User

dictionary.

2. Touch the word you want to customize, and

a pop up window appears.

3. Do one of the following:

• To edit the word, touch Edit.
• To delete the word from the dictionary,

touch Delete.
