Error messages on the display

If the unit detects a problem, one or more of the following messages will appear on the display.

There is something wrong with the unit. Contact our service personnel (see page 78).

The document is not fed into the unit properly. Reinsert the document. If the
misfeeding occurs frequently, clean the document feeder rollers inside the unit
(see page 75). If the problem remains, adjust the feeder pressure (see page 74).

Memory (phone numbers, parameters, etc.) has been erased. Re-program.

The receiving unit is busy or ran out of recording paper. Try again.

The unit ran out of recording paper. Install a recording paper roll (see page 9).

A recording paper jam occurred. Clear the jammed paper (see page 73).

The other fax machine does not have the polling function. Check with the other
party.

The receiving unit is busy or ran out of recording paper. Try again.

REDIAL TIME OUT

The handset and handset cradle have been removed.
—When you want to use the handset and cradle, install the handset cradle

correctly (see page 8).

—When you do not use them, set the handset switch to “NO HANDSET” (see

page 65). Then disconnect and connect the power cord again.

The back cover is open. Close it.

MEMORY FULL

There is no room left in memory to record a voice message. Erase some or all of
the messages (see pages 26 and 48).

The memory is full of received documents. Install a new recording paper roll
(see page 9), or clear the jammed paper (see page 73).

FAX IN MEMORY

The unit has (a) document(s) in memory. See the other message’s instructions
to print out the document(s).

The document is jammed. Remove the jammed document (see page 74).

Divide the document into two or more sheets and try again.

A transmission error occurred. Try again.

The unit is too hot. Let the unit cool down.
