Check the following points once again if you are having trouble with your unit.

Power
No power... • Insert the AC power supply cord securely into a known active AC outlet. 15

Operation
Cannot operate the DVD... • Press DVD when operating DVD. 34
• Some operations may be prohibited by the disc. 36~37
Cannot operate the SD (Card)... • Press SD when operating card. 34
The unit is on but cannot be operated... • Recording drive or playback drive have not been selected properly. 34
• Some operations may be prohibited by the disc. 36~37
• The unit is hot (“U14” appears on the display). Wait until “U14” disappears. 71
• One of the unit’s safety devices may have been activated.
Reset the unit as follows:
(1) Press POWER on the main unit to switch to standby. If the unit doesn’t switch to
standby, press and hold POWER on the main unit for about 10 seconds. The unit
is forcibly switched to standby. Alternatively, disconnect the AC power supply cord,
wait 1 minute, then reconnect it.
(2) Press POWER to turn the unit on.

Cannot eject a disc...
• The Disc Tray can be locked/unlocked.
[Lock]
1 Turn the unit Power ON.
2 Simultaneously press STOP on the unit and POWER on the Remote Control.
[Unlock]
Repeat above steps to unlock.

• If the steps above do not work, there may be a unit malfunction. With unit in OFF
condition, hold down both STOP and CH ▲ buttons on the unit for about 5 seconds.
Remove disc. Contact your retailer.
Remote Control
The Remote Control doesn’t work... • The batteries are depleted. Replace them with new ones. 8
• Point the Remote Control at the Remote Control sensor on the main unit.
• Remove obstacles between the Remote Control and main unit.

Picture
The images from this unit do not appear on
the television...
• Make sure your antenna system (TV or CABLE) is correctly set. 15
Picture flickers...
Picture is not sharp...
• Make sure the antenna location, direction or connection. 15
Spots appear on screen, the screen flickers
...
• The unit may be receiving influence, such as electromagnetic wave interference or
induced electromagnetic wave from geomagnetism or external forces (automobile,
electric train, power lines, neon light, motor, magnetized metal framework of a building,
metal shutters, etc.).

The top and bottom parts of the screen are
blank... • Using picture media wider than 16:9, such as cinema vision size media, etc. may
produce blank portions at the top and bottom of the screen.

Using Zoom or Just causes top and bottom
of screen to disappear... • The screen position may be out of adjustment.
→ Adjust the screen position.

There is a lot of after-image when playing
video...
• Select “MPEG NR” in the OTHER ADJUST menu to “OFF”. 33
