Receiving Faxes
1 Handset is off the base unit:
Press
when the handset rings.
Handset is on the base unit:
Lift the handset when the base unit rings.
2 When:
— document reception is required,
— a fax calling tone (slow beep) is heard, or
— no sound is heard,
press
on the base unit or
press on the handset until a single
beep is heard.
● The unit will start fax reception.

Friendly reception feature
When you answer a call and hear a fax calling tone
(slow beep), the unit will automatically start fax reception.
● If this feature is not required, set feature #46 to off
(p. 60).

display, turn it off by pressing .

Note:
● If you do not answer the call within 10 rings,
the unit will temporarily switch to the fax. The
other party can send a fax.
● Up to 30 sheets of printed paper can be held.
Remove the printed paper before it exceeds
30 sheets.
Fax reception in memory
When a printing problem is detected, the unit
will temporarily store the received document
into memory.
While the document is in memory:
— the display will show an error message and
the following alternately,
Display:
— slow beeps will sound if feature #44 is set to
on (p. 60).
● Follow the instructions on pages 63 and 64 to
solve the problem.
