You can use the remote control to operate a Panasonic television or
a video cassette recorder. Connect your equipment referring to
“Connection example” (‹ page 28).

[Note]

The remote control may not work properly with some models.

Preparation
≥Face the remote control at the unit and press [TV] to light up the

button.

≥Face the remote control at the television for the following

operations.

Turning the television on/off

Press [

Í AV SYSTEM].

Switching the television’s video input mode

Press [TV/VIDEO].

Changing channels

Press [

X CH] or [W CH].

≥[S10/ENTER] is used to confirm channel selection on some

televisions manufactured by other companies.

Adjusting the volume

Press [TV VOL

s] or [TV VOLr].

Preparation
≥Change the video input mode on the television (“VIDEO 2” in the

example).

≥Face the remote control at the unit and press [VCR] to light up the

button.

≥Face the remote control at the video cassette recorder for the

following operations.

Turning the video cassette recorder on/off

Press [

Í AV SYSTEM].

Play, pause and stop

Press [

1] (play), [;] or [∫].

Fast forward and rewind

Press [

6] or [5].

Connecting a laser disc or record player

Connect instead of a video cassette recorder (‹ page 28) and
select “VCR” as the source.

≥We recommend using a record player with a built-in phono

equalizer. If your player doesn’t have a built-in equalizer, connect it
first to a separate equalizer and then to the unit.

This remote control can also operate some other brands of televisions
and video cassette recorders. Change the code to operate such
equipment (‹ below).

Face the remote control at the equipment.

While pressing [TV] or [VCR]

Press a numbered button to enter the first digit, and then
the second digit.

The remote control outputs the on/off signal. If the code is correct,
the equipment turns on or off. If it doesn’t, try entering another code.

[Note]

Reenter the codes after you change the batteries.

Press [AUX] to select “AUX” as the source.

Press [DVD/CD] to select “DVD/CD”.

Press [TUNER/BAND] to select “FM” or “AM”.

Start recording and play.

This unit can decode the surround signals received through satellite
broadcasts. Refer to your satellite receiver’s operating instructions
for details.

Press [SHIFT] + [DIGITAL] to select “D-IN” (Digital In) as
the source.

Main unit: Press [DIGITAL IN].
