Folder Composition
The folder structure of the card or
MultiMediaCard is displayed as the
illustration below.

1 Folder number
2 File number
3 JPG: pictures

MOV: motion pictures

Files will be saved in each folder as follows.

• Image data of up to 999 pictures recorded

by the camera can be included in 1 folder.
If the number of picture data exceeds 999,
another folder will be created.

• When you reset the file number or the

folder number, select [NO.RESET] in the
[SETUP] menu. (P22)

Conditions under which a different

folder number is used

When recording under the following
conditions, new picture files will be
recorded to a folder with a different number
than the pictures recorded immediately
before.
1 When the folder just recorded to contains

a picture file with the number 999 in it
(example: P1000999.JPG).

2 When the card just recorded to contains

a folder with the number 100 in it
(example: 100_PANA) and that card is
removed and replaced with a card that
has a folder with the number 100 in it
recorded by a different maker’s camera
(example: 100_XXXXX, with XXXXX
being the maker name) and recording is
commenced. (When a card is inserted
that contains a folder with the same
number, regardless of the maker.)

3 When recording after selecting

[NO.RESET] from the [SETUP] menu.
(Pictures will be recorded to a new folder
with a number sequential to the folder
recorded to immediately before. By using
[NO.RESET] on a card that does not
contain folders or pictures, such as one
just formatted, the folder number can be
reset to 100.)
