• Clear the area of synthetic materials such as polyester, plastic, vinyl, or
styrofoam because these materials carry static electricity that damages the
equipment.
Installing the shelf
To install the optical shelf ( Figure 15 ) in a standard 19-inch equipment rack:
1 Support the chassis so that all of the mounting holes in the optical shelf are
aligned with the corresponding holes in the rack.
2 Attach two rack mounting bolts to each side of the rack.
3 Tighten all of the bolts in rotation.
