Choose single-servo
autofocus.
Rotate the focus-mode selector
until it clicks into place
pointing to S (single-servo
autofocus). At this setting, the
camera will automatically focus
on the subject in the selected
focus point when the shutter-
release button is pressed
halfway. Pictures can only be taken when the camera is in
focus.

Choose matrix metering.
Rotate the metering selector to
Y (matrix metering). Matrix
metering uses information
from the 1,005-pixel RGB
sensor to ensure optimal
results for the entire frame.
