The Buttons on the Remote Control

Your backlit remote has a light button that glows in the dark. Press this
button to light the channel up and channel down (CH +/–) and volume up
and down (VOL </>)buttons. If you don’t press any buttons for several
seconds, the light turns off to conserve battery power.

0-9 (Number buttons)

Enter channel numbers directly through the remote.

To enter a 2-digit channel, press the two digits. To enter a 3-digit channel,
press and hold the first digit until two dashes appear on the screen (to the
right of the first number), then add the next two digits. Example: to tune to
channel 123, press and hold 1 until 1– – appears, press 2, then press 3.

ANTENNA button

Used to switch between off-air and cable mode in

VCR mode.

Arrow buttons (up, down, right, and left)

Press the arrow buttons to

move through the on-screen menus.

AUX button

Puts the remote in AUX mode.

CH (+ and –) buttons

Scan up or down through stored channels. Press

once to change the channel up or down; press and hold to continue changing
channels. The remote must be in TV mode — press the TV button.

CLEAR button

Resets the time counter. The remote must be in VCR mode

— press the VCR button.

DVD button

Puts the remote in DVD mode. Operates RCA, GE, and

Proscan DVD Players.

INFO button Displays TV/VCR’s current status. Displays time counter when
a tape is inserted. Press again to remove display.

INPUT button Repeatedly press to select the TV/VCR tuner, or line inputs
(LINE 1 for the rear LINE IN/IN1 jacks, LINE 2 for the front VIDEO, L/MONO,
R jacks or COMPONENT for the COMPONENT jacks).

FORWARD (fast forward) button Fast forwards the tape when the TV/VCR
is stopped. Also searches the picture in forward motion during playback. The
remote must be in VCR mode — press the VCR button.

GO BACK button Returns you to the previous channel. The remote must be
in TV mode — press the TV button.

INDEX (+ and –) buttons Searches for recorded index marks. The remote
must be in VCR mode — press the VCR button.
