Installing the software Quatech Freedom USB Adapter User’s Manual
Step Procedure Description
Step 12 Make sure that the Quatech CD is in your
CD-ROM drive.
This is the CD that shipped with your
Freedom USB adapter.
Step 13 Select the Install the software
automatically (Recommended) option. The Wizard should go automatically to
the USB driver location. If necessary,
you can browse to the correct location.
The complete path is E:\Serial Port
Adapters\Drivers\Windows 95, 98, Me,
2000. XP for USB\Enhanced. Replace
E: with your CD-ROM drive
designation.
Step 14 Click the Next button to continue. The wizard prompts you to wait while it
searches for serial USB port drivers.

Step 15 The wizard completes the installation and
displays the Installation complete prompt.
Figure 8 illustrates the wizard
