13. MD1000 setup.
a. Connect both power cords on DM1000.
b. CSI termination is internal; so no terminator is needed.
14. Power up the MD1000.
15. Power up the 1950/2950 Dell Server.
16. During Dell boot up watch for the message
PowerEdge RAID controller BIOS then press
Ctrl-R
to go to RAID controller config (this takes several minutes to enter the config
utility).
17. In the PERC RAID BIOS screens:
a. Use Arrow Up/Down to select
Controller 1: Perc 5/E adapter Bus 0x0F Device 0x0E
Function 0x00
then Enter.
b. Hit F2 use Tab or Up/Down arrow key to select
Create New VD
then Enter.
