Selecting the microphone sensitivity

With MIC ALC “ON”:

1.

While the recorder is stopped, press the MENU/STOP button for at least two
(2) seconds.

2.

Press the Y or T button to select “VOICE”, then press the W button.

3.

Press the Y or T button to select “MIC SENS.”, then
press the
W button.

4.

Press the Y or T button to select “HIGH”, “MIDDLE” or
“LOW”, then press the
W button.

HIGH: High sensitivity
MIDDLE: Middle sensitivity
LOW: Low sensitivity

5.

Press the MENU/STOP button twice to exit from the menu setting mode.
The setting of the microphone sensitivity is complete.

6.

Press the PAUSE/REC button to start recording.

With MIC ALC “OFF”:

1.

Press the PAUSE/REC button to enter the recording
standby mode.
Adjust the angle of the built-in microphones toward the
sound to be recorded.

2.

Press the Y or T button to adjust the microphone sensi-
tivity while checking the level meter.
The microphone sensitivity can be adjusted to 31 levels (Level
0 to level 30).

3.

Press the PAUSE/REC button to start recording.

Note:

· The LCD screen changes while you adjust the microphone sensitivity as shown below.

· The recorder will remember the specified microphone sensitivity for the next recording

session.

· Adjusting the microphone sensitivity during recording may cause unwanted noise to be

recorded. Adjust the sensitivity only when the recorder is in recording standby mode.
