Custom POIs (Points of Interest)

POIs (Points of Interest)

Your StreetPilot 2820 accepts custom points of interest (POI)

databases, available from various companies on the Internet. Some

custom POI databases contain alert information for points, such as

safety cameras and school zones. Your StreetPilot 2820 can notify

you when you approach one of these points.
After downloading your POI database, use the Garmin POI

Loader to install the POIs into your unit. The POI Loader is

available at

www.garmin.com/products/poiloader/.

Select

updates

and Downloads

. Refer to the POI Loader Help file for more

information; press F1 to open the Help file.

Finding Custom POIs

To find the custom POIs loaded on your StreetPilot 2820, press the

FInD

key, and then touch

Deleting Custom POIs

To delete all of the custom POIs, press the menu

key. Touch

About TourGuide

The TourGuide feature allows your StreetPilot 2820 to play third-

party, GPS-guided audio tours. These audio tours, for example, can

take you on a route while playing interesting facts about historical

sites along your route. As you travel, the audio information is

triggered by GPS signals.
If you have loaded TourGuide files (MP3 format) on your

StreetPilot, you can find them by pressing the FInD key, and then

touch
