Parts Included:
1 – Inductive Sync Pickup
1 – 8-feet Fiber Optic Cable with Sleeve
1 – Tie Wrap
The Inductive Sync Pickup provides an easy and reliable way to obtain a synchronization signal for
MSD's Digital Programmable Ignitions and Accessories. The pickup simply slides over the number
one spark plug wire and senses each firing of the spark plug. The fiber optic cable connects to the
MSD Control while providing a clean signal that will not interfere with other electronics. No phasing
or alignment is required with this pickup.
Note: It is not recommended to cut the fiber optic cable. If the cable is too long, it is preferred to
loop the cable and secure it.
1. Route the number one spark plug wire through the pickup. It is best to position the
pickup, close the distributor. Secure the pickup with the supplied wire tie.
2. Insert the fiber optic cable into the Pickup. Snug the cinch nut – do not overtighten!
3. Route the cable to the Ignition Control. Use care to keep the cable away from engine heat sources,
edges and moving parts. Snug the cinch nut – do not overtighten!
If your fiber optic cable is ever damaged, MSD offers a replacement as PN 7556.
