Helical Side Gear Bearing Damage Output Side Gear - Stub-End Bore Galling
General Description: Spinout is excessive wheel spinning that produces damaging heat. High heat breaks down lube film,
allowing damaging metal-to-metal contact. Long-term spinout could produce complete axle break-
down.
Usual Causes: • Single rear axle: Main differential spinout occurs when one wheel remains stationary while the other
wheel is spinning.
• Tandem axles: Spinout occurs in the inter-axle differential when either one wheel or one axle spins
while its mate remains stationary
