2. Test that the bumper is clean enough to attach to by applying a small strip of masking tape to
see if you have achieved a tack. If you have, proceed to apply the adhesive promoter provided
by swiping the area once. The watery fluid only needs to be applied in a thin swipe. If you have
not achieved a tack then clean again until you have.
3. Your new kit is designed to cover the center area of the bumper. Depending on your model
you may or may not have a dark center section. It is this section that we will cover with your kit.
IMPORTANT: Before you stick anything to the bumper place the stainless section in place and
pre shape the part so that it matches the contour of the bumper exactly. This will prevent the
part from popping out of place long term. NOTE: If you consider that metal will not bend by
itself than you can expect that if you do a nice job of shaping the part it will stay in place for
years to come. Once you are satisfied with the fitment simply peel the red release liner from
the back of the part and then carefully place it in position and then press firmly to set.
4. You have been provided with two length of chrome trim. The thicker length is to be attached
to the bumper just underneath the stainless plate. This will sort of create a rolled look to the
bottom side of the kit. Clean the area around the entire plate first with household rubbing
alcohol then swipe once with the adhesive promoter stick provided. Simply peel the red release
liner and set it in place so that it is nice and tight against the stainless section and then trim
away any excess length. Press very firmly to set.
5. The thin length of trim is provided to cap the whole installation. Peel the red release liner
from the back of the trim and the set it against the paint at the end of the thicker chrome trim
and work your way around to the opposite side and trim away any excess. TECH TIP: It is the
nature of chrome vinyl trim to shrink over time. In order to prevent the ends of the trim from
receding due to this shrinking apply a tiny drop of instant adhesive between the trim at the
ends of the kit where the two trims meet. Be careful not to allow any of this adhesive to drip
onto the paint as this will damage the paint surface. Apply some masking tape before you apply
the adhesive to prevent this.
Note: EXTRA CARE must be taken when cleaning your stainless trim. It is a good idea to lightly
dust your trim with a clean soft cloth first in order to prevent any particles from scratching it.
Then wipe (using a new clean soft cloth) with a good quality streak free glass cleaner.
