the axle bracket first, and then insert into the chassis mount. Just as with the OEM bar, the new bar

is very tight going into the chassis mount and may require you to use a pry bar. You may also have

to turn the bar to adjust the length one way or the other, which can be done as long as the jam nuts

are loose.

Step 5: Torque the bolts at the mounting brackets on each end first,

but make sure to leave the jam nuts on the forged ends loose. At the

axle mount, you will use the supplied, longer 14mm bolt and washer.

Insert the large silver spacer into the OEM mounting bracket and

slide the bolt through the assembly and tighten with 14mm washer,

lock washer and nut. You will reuse the OEM bolt at the chassis.

Setting the length of the new panhard bar is critical and should be

done using an alignment machine for accuracy, but you can eye it

first to get close. Be sure that the axle assembly is as centered

under the car as possible before driving. The panhard bar can be

turned by using a 22mm wrench on the flats machined into the bar.

Firmly tighten the jam nuts at each end of the panhard bar before

driving.

Note: Once the length has been set, you may want to remove the bar and tighten the jam nut at the

chassis bracket because the clearance is very tight for a wrench, however it can still be torqued after

installation if you are using an open-end wrench. Check the panhard bar after driving 100 miles or

so. The suspension may settle if you make other modifications such as coil springs, which could

change the suspension geometry and effect how the axle sits under the chassis.
