Using the CoolSmoke
Calibration - (Must be done before each test)

Since the Technician will be locating a leak outside of the CoolSmoke, it is necessary to establish that
there are no internal leaks inside the CoolSmoke.

Be sure that the Regulator Control Knob is turned to the lowest pressure setting, fully counter-
clockwise.

Attach the battery clips to the battery and plug in the air supply. Set the Mode Switch to Manual (Calibrate).

Set the timer for 5 minutes. Slowly turn the Regulator Control knob clockwise, until the reading on the
air pressure gauge is exactly 10 psi. The Air-Flow Lamp will be illuminated. If the pressure rises beyond
10 psi, turn the Regulator Control Knob counter-clockwise one turn and release the pressure inside the
CoolSmoke, by plugging in the fog-tube momentarily. Repeat the Regulator control setting, until the
base pressure is set accurately.

When the air pressure setting has settled at 10 psi, press the Mode Switch to engage the 3-psi Mode. The
Air-Flow Lamp will go out. While a very small amount of leakage is allowed, the pressure must remain
steady for the remainder of the timer setting. Once this is accomplished, the CoolSmoke is ready for
use. Should pressure drop too quickly, excessive internal leakage is indicated, and the unit will require
service.

The calibration procedure is now complete.

FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE AND PROTECTION, IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT THE COOLSMOKE IS
OPERATED USING THE 1PSI MODE AS THE DEFAULT. THIS WILL PREVENT IT FROM SUPPLYING
EXCESSIVE PRESSURE WHEN NOT REQUIRED.
