Choose the Baud Rate, Parity, Flow Control,
Data bits and Stop bits from this dialog box.
Click on OK to complete the Port configuration.
Make sure these entries match the settings of the
instrument.
The Extended Modbus Device
Properties dialog box will redisplay with
the port number.
The default values for baud rate, data
bits and stop bits for various
communication equipment are shown in
Table 3.2.

Leave other fields on this dialog box at their
default values. Click on OK.
The added device will be displayed in
the Device Tree on the left frame as
shown in the next figure:

Open the device by double-clicking on it and
select the serial port from the Port drop-down list
if it was not already started in step 4 above. Click
on OK.
