4.0 START-UP and OPERATION

4.1 Micro-PWC Startup

4.1.1 Startup Options

Micro-PWC system startup behavior is determined by the options selected during Micro-PWC system
installation. (To view or change the startup options, select Setup from the Micro-PWC system program
group.)

If the Start Micro-PWC Displays Automatically option was selected, then each time the Windows software
is restarted, the user named capuser is automatically logged in, and the Micro-PWC system windows (the
System Window, Process Alarm Window and Operator Window[s]) are automatically opened. (See

Section

4.3, The Capuser Account

, for details on the capuser account.)

If the Start Micro-PWC Displays Automatically option was not selected, then the Micro-PWC system dis-
plays can be started by logging in to the Windows software with an administrator account other than
capuser, and selecting Start > Programs > MicroMod Automation > Micro-PWC > System Window to start
the Micro-PWC system displays.

Both the capuser account and the administrator account belong to the Administrators group.

4.1.2 Micro-PWC Program Group

When Micro-PWC system setup is complete, the following Windows Program Group is created:

NOTE

The Micro-PWC system software can only be run if you are logged
into a Windows user account which belongs to the Administrators
group. If you log into an account which is not a member of the
Administrators group, an error dialog box containing the following
message will appear whenever you try to open a Micro-PWC
system window:

Unable to communicate to the service manager
