WARNING

All information in this manual is for
reference and guidance purposes,
and does not substitute for required
professional training, conduct,
and strict adherence to applicable
jurisdictional/professional codes and
regulations.

Once the system has been fi lled,
any modifi cation to the tank or
connected piping requires purging
of the work area to prevent ignition
of potentially fl ammable vapors.
Consult factory prior to beginning
work. Consult Material Safety Data
Sheet (MSDS) for your thermal fl uid
for fl ammability limits.

CAUTION

Non-code tanks cannot be pressurized
over 15 psig.

If the deaerator/thermal buff er/
expansion tank is located outdoors, a
nitrogen blanket is required.

Drain/Fill Connection

The system is usually fi lled from the lowest point, with the aid of a pump. On skid-
mounted units, a drain and fi ll connection is provided in the inlet piping to the
pump. See Figure 14.

Pressure Gauges

The range in which readings are expected to fall should comprise mid-scale on
the pressure gauge chosen (See Figure 15). Pressure gauges must be able to
withstand overpressure equal to the rating of the safety relief valves, normally
100 psig.
