Caution

Always begin your observations at the lowest magnification possible. This will allow you to
center the specimen in your field of view. This alignment of the specimen has to be done
carefully, or you might not get the desired view upon changing the magnification.

Turn on the LCD monitor.
Place a specimen on the stage and use stage clips to hold it in place.
Turn the revolving nosepiece until 4x objective lens is locked in place. Move the slide manually,
to center the desired part of the observed object in the field of view.
Raise the stage by turning the focus knobs until the cover glass of the slide touches the objective
lens. Be careful and try not to damage the slide or the lens.
Look at the monitor and, if necessary, adjust focus with a fine focus knob until you see a clear
image on the screen.

If this procedure is performed properly, you will not have to worry about damaging the optics or
the specimen, when switching to a different objective lens. However, additional focusing may
still be required.

This model performs best under the following conditions: room temperatures from 10 °C to 35 °C
(50 °F to 95 °F), relative humidity not exceeding 80% at 25 °C (77 °F).
The room should also be void of any dust, acid or base vapors and other active substances

Never, under any circumstance, look directly at the Sun, another bright source of light or at
a laser through this device, as this may cause PERMANENT RETINAL DAMAGE and may lead to
BLINDNESS.
Take necessary precautions when using the device with children or people, who have not
read and fully understood these instructions.
Do not try to take the device apart on your own. For repairs of any kind, please contact
your local specialized service center.

Care and maintenance

After unpacking your microscope and before using it for the first time check for integrity and
durability of every component and connection.
Do not touch the optical surfaces with your fingers. You can use a soft napkin or a cleaning wipe,
dipped in ether or absolute alcohol, to clean lenses. We recommend using special optics
cleaning fluids from Levenhuk. Do not use any corrosive or acetone-based fluids to clean the
optics.
Abrasive particles, such as sand, should not be wiped off lenses, but instead blown off or
brushed away with a soft brush.
Do not apply excessive pressure when adjusting focus. Do not overtighten the locking screws.
Protect the device from sudden impacts and excessive mechanical force.
