Moving logical servers when the CMS and vCenter are in different network
domains
If you are moving an ESX virtual machine logical server, there may be a delay in the population
of possible target hosts if the CMS and vCenter are in different network domains (subnets).
Similarly, if you are moving the logical server using drag and drop, there may be a delay before
the hosts appear as valid targets.
XML parsing error if new ESA attributes are not added to serverInfo.xml
Insight Dynamics 6.0 Update 1 contains version 317 of HP Extensible Storage & Server Adapter.
This version adds the rackName and rackPosition attributes for HP Operations Orchestration
Servers.
If you do not include the new attributes in serverInfo.xml, an XML parsing error is displayed
in the esa.log file.
Suggested action Make sure that the new ooServers attributes are present in the user-configured
serverInfo.xml file. The HP Extensible Storage & Server Adapter ESA-OO-RefImpl.zip
file contains an example of serverInfo.xml.
Patch required for proper management of Microsoft Windows Server 2008
with Hyper-V systems
A patch from Microsoft is required for managing Microsoft Windows Server 2008 with Hyper-V
systems. Patches are installed on the Hyper-V hosts, and after you do so, you must install or
update Hyper-V Integration Services from the updated host to each VM guest. Do this as a
precaution because not all patches affect Integration Services on the guests.
Microsoft Windows Server 2008 SP2 with Hyper-V requires you to install the following patch
that fixes the hang in host servers with many simultaneous virtual machine operations. The patch
is located at

Displaying empty, hidden resource pools
When in the Virtual Machine perspective, empty resource pools are not displayed. Instead ellipses
(“...”) are shown.
Workaround Click on the ellipses to display the empty, hidden resource pools.
Problems with meters collecting data
If you have trouble with meters collecting data, use vseassist(1M) to help troubleshoot the cause.
Search button displays error page
The Virtualization Manager Visualization tab has a toolbar which contains a Search button and
associated text input field. On rare occasions when you type some text in the field and press the
enter key or click the Search button, the page is replaced with a serious error.
Workaround Re-enter Virtualization Manager using the Tools
→Virtualization Manager...
menu selection or by clicking the All VSE Resources collection (or one of the collections under
it) in HP SIM's left pane. Then re-enter your search.
